- Teaches audience manners and respectful listening.
Make a Movie
Students explore the creative process of film-making. They learn how to tell a story visually using different shots and angles. Students collaborate to create a movie based on a folktale using a storyboard, script, costumes, puppets, and a green screen. Following the filming, Janice adds realistic background scenery, special effects, music, title, and credits. Each site receives two copies of the movie on a DVD.

Make A Movie With Janice Davin
Dynamic Story Theater
Janice Davin creates fantastic yet believable worlds and invites her listeners to join her there. Students engage in dramatic play that includes creative movement, drama, improvisation, and dialog. The program concludes with a student performance of the story using props, puppets, and sound effects.
Poetry On the Move
Janice leads students in structured. age-appropriate activities designed to inspire a love of poetry as spoken art. Students engage in word play and dramatization. They interpret poetry by presenting a performance that demonstrates their response to the poem’s message.
Musical Stories and Folk Songs
Students learn folksongs and folk dances. They participate in musical storytelling that includes instruments, body percussion, and sound effects. All programs integrate speech, movement, rhythm, and melody.
Janice also presents programs for teachers, site coordinators, and associates. See Workshops For Teachers.
